Lenny Kravitz knows how to get a crowd going!

On Friday, Oct. 18, the rock star, 60, hit the stage for the first show part of his five-day Las Vegas residency — and, of course, he did it in style.

For the inaugural concert, the “Fly Away” rocker hit the stage at Dolby Live at Park MGM in a classic Kravitz fit: a pair of flared jeans, ultra-oversized sunglasses and a sparkly, slinky shirt.

The barely-there halter tank showed off the singer’s toned physique as he performed on stage and later, jumped into the crowd, where fans were able to have intimate interactions with him.

Ahead of his second Sin City show on Saturday, Oct. 19, Kravitz documented the first night on Instagram, where he posted a video of himself shredding on guitar.

“Thank you, Las Vegas Night 1,” he captioned the post. “Let’s do it again tonight.”

As he released his latest album, Blue Electric Light, earlier this year, Kravitz teased that his Vegas residency would be a “celebration of life, music, love, of rock ‘n’ roll” — as well as a great starting point for his international Blue Electric Light Tour, which kicks off next February.

“It’s always been a great part of entertainment history, and I thought it’d be a great warm-up, a great place to start and present Blue Electric Light to America,” he told PEOPLE in May.

Though a residency can take a serious physical toll, Kravitz also said he wasn’t planning to do any special prep because, put simply, he’s already been doing it.

“I train five days a week, I lift weights, I do cardio, I eat well, I try to rest well when I can,” he told PEOPLE. “It’s just part of life — it’s not even a question.”

As for the music, the setlist includes his classics, as well as some Blue Electric Light tracks.

While there wasn’t a “conceptual idea” for the record — which marks his 12th studio album — it stays true to the “Human” artist’s tendency to have a different tone and sonic quality on each body of work.

“It’s a different part of my life,” Kravitz told PEOPLE of the album.

In February, the rocker hinted that Blue Electric Light was a prequel of sorts to his debut album. “It’s kind of like the record I didn’t make in high school before I made my first album, Let Love Rule,” he said at the 2024 Grammys. “So it’s really fun.”

As for why that album didn’t come to fruition at that moment in time, he said that it was because he “never got a record deal.”

“I didn’t get my record deal until I was 23. So I had left that sort of vibe and moved on and this is a little step in that direction,” the musician explained, adding that “it’s nice to celebrate that time.”

Kravitz’s Vegas residency will continue for three more nights: Oct. 23, 25 and 26.
