BREAKING NEWS: Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy Breaks Silence with Cryptic Message After Arrest and Dropped Charges.giang

March 11, 2025 by Giang Giang

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy has spoken out for the first time since news of his arrest and subsequent exoneration made headlines over the weekend.

Worthy, 21, was arrested Friday night in Williamson County, Texas, on suspicion of assaulting a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation, according to online records. The serious nature of the charge led to immediate speculation about the young wide receiver’s future with the Chiefs.

However, just 24 hours later, authorities in Williamson County announced they would not pursue charges, citing statements from multiple witnesses that led them to decline the case.

Worthy’s First Public Response

Following the unexpected turn of events, Worthy took to social media to share his first reaction. On Saturday, he posted a selfie to his Instagram Stories along with a simple yet telling caption:

“New beginnings.”

In the image, Worthy appeared to be sporting a fresh haircut, possibly signaling a desire to turn the page on the incident and move forward.

Additionally, he posted two prayer-hand emojis on X (formerly Twitter) early Sunday morning—his first public message since the news broke that he would not be charged.

Legal Team Calls Allegations “Baseless”

Shortly after his initial arrest, Worthy’s attorneys released a strongly worded statement defending their client and calling the allegations completely unfounded.

“The allegation against Mr. Worthy is baseless. We are fully cooperating with authorities and remain confident that the facts will support his innocence.”

The legal team’s confidence was ultimately validated when Williamson County officials chose not to move forward with charges.

Worthy’s Promising NFL Future

Worthy was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs with the No. 28 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and had an impressive rookie season, recording:

  • 59 receptions
  • 638 yards
  • 9 touchdowns

His contributions played a key role in the Chiefs’ offensive success, and he was expected to take on an even larger role in the 2025 season.

Now that charges have been dropped, Worthy can shift his focus back to football. However, it remains to be seen whether the Chiefs or the NFL league office will conduct their own investigation into the situation.

For now, Worthy appears to be putting the situation behind him, and if his “New beginnings” post is any indication, he’s ready to move forward.
