In only his second year with the New York Jets, quarterback Aaron Rodgers is not guaranteed to return to the team next season, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.
“Let’s be clear: There is no guarantee Aaron Rodgers will be back in a Jets uniform in 2025,” Russini said.
The Jets are third in the AFC East with a 3-7 record entering Week 11.
Rodgers played in just one game last season after tearing his Achilles tendon in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.
This season, any glimpse of “Vintage Rodgers” has been notably absent, as he is averaging 225.8 yards per game—his fifth-lowest mark in 20 years when playing more than two games.
He holds a 51.9 QBR—the fourth-worst mark of his career—and has thrown seven interceptions in 10 games. His career-high for interceptions in a season is 13, set in 2008.
Wherever the 40-year-old ends up next year will likely be the final team he plays for.
When asked if he plans to play in the 2025 season, the 20-year veteran replied, “I think so, yeah.”
Whether the Jets will be his team next year remains uncertain.
