Sean “P Diddy” Combs cut a forlorn figure in court this week, where he faced the music after three weeks in federal custody.
The shamed hip-hop mogul was cuffed on September 16, facing grave accusations like sex trafficking and racketeering. Swapping dazzling designer outfits for drab prison garb, Diddy presented himself before the judge on Thursday.
Captured by courtroom artists, the 54 year old appeared despondent, donning an oversized jailhouse shirt at the hearing that centered on evidence selection for his trial. But in the midst of his woes, spotting his mum and kids in the attendees sparked a brief smile on Diddy’s face; their presence a pillar amidst claims from 120 women alleging abuse by the star.
The safety of his brood prompted a residence shift to New York following frightening mansion raids. The artist also allegedly employed Cassie’s decade-strong record to manipulate her, with releases that were never meant to surface.
As Diddy’s kin entered the legal premises, they were met with contempt and insults, some individuals scornfully telling 84 year old Janice Combs: “Your son is a predator.”
During the proceedings, Diddy’s legal corner accused the prosecution of leaking scandalous footage of Cassie Ventura and Diddy in an abusive altercation in a hotel; allegations the prosecutors quashed as groundless, refuting any suggestions of racial bias in their pursuit of the case, per reports from The Daily Mail.
Diddy has remained insistent on his innocence, denying all allegations against him. Despite his assertions, after the court hearing, Diddy found himself heading back to the slammer, having been denied bail set at a staggering $50 million.
He’s now due for a stint behind bars, with no exit until his trial kicks off on May 5, 2025. The trial is expected to unfold over three weeks, where Diddy will face a Manhattan jury on severe charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering.

The outcome could swing dramatically if cut loose next June or, in a grim turn, locked away for life if handed a maximum sentence. If the accusations stick and he’s convicted, Diddy’s looking at a minimum 15 years behind bars, emerging at 69 years old.
And if the courts decide on the extreme end of punishment, the rapper could find himself staring at a life sentence. Life in prison isn’t sitting well with Diddy, particularly adjusting to lockup life at the Metropolitan Detention Center, it’s said.
Above all, it’s the jailhouse cuisine that’s hitting him the hardest, reveals his lawyer Marc Agnifilo, speaking to the press outside the courthouse: “I think the food’s probably the roughest part of it.”
