Unbeknownst to the lion, the hive was home to a massive swarm of bees – 10,000 strong. The bees were furious at the destruction of their home and the loss of their precious honey. As the lion continued on its hunt, it suddenly found itself under attack. The swarm of bees had descended upon it, using their stingers to strike back at the predator that had destroyed their home. The lion roared and swatted at the bees with its massive paws, but the swarm was too numerous and persistent.Swarm of bees attacks snoozing lions in Kalahari Desert, in pictures | Lions, Bee, Snoozing

The bees continued their assault, their stingers piercing the lion’s thick mane and skin. Despite its size and strength, the lion was no match for the relentless swarm of bees. It soon realized that it had made a grave mistake in destroying their nest.Swarm of bees attacks snoozing lions in Kalahari Desert, in pictures

After what seemed like an eternity, the bees finally relented and retreated back to their hive. The lion was left battered and bruised, covered in stingers and nursing its wounds. It had learned a powerful lesson – that every action has consequences, and that even the smallest creatures can exact a mighty revenge.Swarm of bees attacks snoozing lions in Kalahari Desert, in pictures

From that day on, the lion stayed clear of bee’s nests and learned to respect the power of even the tiniest creatures in the wild. And the swarm of bees continued to thrive, rebuilding their hive and protecting their precious honey from any and all predators.
