Kylie Jenner Struggles with Sleep After the Sudden Death of Hairstylist and Close Friend Jesus Guerrero
Kylie Jenner is continuing to grieve the loss of her longtime hairstylist and close friend, Jesus Guerrero, who passed away at the age of 34. His family announced his sudden and unexpected death on Sunday, February 23. Guerrero, who worked with high-profile clients including Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Kendall Jenner, and Kim Kardashian, was beloved for his talent and his warm personality.
Throughout the week, Jenner has shared heartfelt tributes to Guerrero on social media. On February 28, Jenner, 27, posted on Instagram Stories that “sleeping has been the hardest,” reflecting her ongoing struggle with the loss. She shared a FaceTime screenshot of her conversation with mutual friend Ariel Tejada, which lasted for over seven hours. “I love you so much,” Tejada commented on the post.
Jenner also shared a video of herself and Guerrero having fun in the backseat of a car, accompanied by Leon Bridges’ song “River.” The post was a reminder of their joyful moments together, showcasing the deep connection they shared.
In a tribute posted on February 25, Jenner described Guerrero as “a light in my life” and a source of “laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support.” She reflected on how he had been by her side for nearly a decade, making even the toughest days easier. “You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched,” she wrote, adding that his impact would be felt forever.
The family of Jesus Guerrero set up a GoFundMe page for funeral expenses, and in a touching gesture, Jenner offered to cover the costs. Guerrero’s sister, Gris, expressed gratitude, sharing an update on the GoFundMe page, thanking Kylie for her support. The funds raised were redirected to cover other expenses, including securing his belongings and settling his assets.
A source close to Jenner shared with PEOPLE that Jesus’ passing has deeply affected her. “She is shocked and very upset,” the source said, adding that despite her grief, Jenner has been focused on supporting Guerrero’s family, including financially, during this difficult time.
Along with her work with Jenner and Lopez, Guerrero’s clients included many other major stars, such as Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Rosalía, Demi Moore, Charli XCX, Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, and Lisa of BLACKPINK. His loss is felt deeply within the entertainment community.
